Eco Club - Profile

The Eco Club of the college is a student-driven initiative dedicated to fostering environmental awareness, sustainability, and eco-friendly practices within the campus and the surrounding rural communities. Rooted in the values of conservation and collective responsibility, the club works to educate, engage, and empower students to become proactive stewards of the environment.

Objectives:

· To create environmental awareness among students and local communities.

· To promote sustainable practices such as waste management, water conservation, Pollution control and biodiversity protection.

· To involve students in practical environmental activities like plantation, cleanliness drives, and plastic-free campaigns.

· To support government initiatives like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Jal Shakti Abhiyan, etc.

· To cultivate a culture of environmental responsibility and green citizenship.

Key Activities:

· Tree Plantation Drives: On campus and in adopted villages during Environment Day, Van Mahotsav, and other occasions.

· Clean and Green Campus Campaigns: Regular cleanliness and beautification activities in collaboration with NSS and Student Council.

· Workshops & Seminars: Sessions on pollution control climate change, sustainable development, biodiversity, organic farming, and eco-entrepreneurship.

· Plastic-Free Campus Initiative: Awareness campaigns and plastic collection drives.

· Water & Energy Conservation Initiatives: Promotion of water harvesting, minimal energy use, and maintenance of solar lighting systems.

· Eco-Friendly Celebrations: Encouraging green practices during festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi (clay idols), Diwali (no crackers), and Pongal (natural decorations).
